    Hoe komt het dat de eerste stelling correct is? Als de centrale opening groter word dan word het oppervlakte van de ring toch kleiner en dus zo minder inductie stroom.

    Door de centrale opening in de ring te vergroten, is er een grotere initiële flux (figuur a) en daardoor ook een grotere fluxverandering bij overgang van figuur a naar figuur b.
